Chip Seal Best Practices course presents ways to assist in the development and implementation of pavement preservation programs by identifying the benefits of using chip seal as part of a preventive maintenance program and the importance of maintenance of existing roads before it is selected. The course also covers the calibration of distributors and chip spreaders and how to put together a pavement team. The asphalt 101 portion covers mix design.
