Road Safety Audits/Assessment

MO-LTAP Scholars Program credit is awarded for participating in a road safety audit/assessment, organized through the Missouri Safety Circuit Rider. A road safety audit/assessment (RSA)  is a formal safety performance evaluation of an existing or future road and/or intersection by an independent interdisciplinary assessment team, which look for possible hazards for all road users. An RSA helps produce designs that reduce the number and severity of crashes. An RSA promotes awareness of safe design practices and may also reduce costs by identifying safety issues and correcting them before projects are constructed.
